Wrenchy vs Simply Auto

Which is better, Simply Auto or Wrenchy?

Simply Auto does more: fuel, expenses, receipt photos, GPS mileage logs for tax deductions and shared vehicles, with a free version. But its iPhone app hasn't been updated since March 24, 2022, and recent reviews report crashes on iOS 18 and broken Google Drive backups. Wrenchy is narrower and current: a service log with your own interval for each service, glovebox documents with expiry reminders, no account and no ads.

Pick Simply Auto if

Pick Wrenchy if

Wrenchy's drawbacks: it costs money, it has no cloud sync (it relies on your phone's iCloud or computer backup, plus CSV export), it doesn't import from other apps, it has no trip log, it's iPhone and iPad only, and it's new.

Questions

Is Simply Auto still updated?

As of October 20, 2026, its last iPhone update on the US App Store was version 50.1.1.1 on March 24, 2022. It still installs. Several recent reviews report problems on newer iOS versions (see below), so check the latest reviews before relying on it.

What do Simply Auto's recent reviews say?

We read its 50 most recent US App Store reviews, posted from September 30, 2024 to September 24, 2026. 22 are one or two stars. Among those, 6 report crashes or the app not opening (4 of them name iOS 18); 5 report that backup or export doesn't work (4 of them name Google Drive or a Google login); and 6 say support didn't reply. These are reviewers' reports, not something we've tested.

Can I move my Simply Auto records to Wrenchy?

Not automatically. Wrenchy doesn't import from other apps. Simply Auto's listing says it can export CSV files, so you can keep that file as your old history, and enter the most recent service of each type in Wrenchy so the reminders know where to start.

Which is better for business mileage?

Simply Auto, if it works on your phone: it logs trips by GPS for tax-deductible and reimbursable mileage. Wrenchy doesn't log trips.
